Our Goal
Open Door Thrift Store is a non-profit 501(c) 3 mission of the OPEN
DOOR OUTREACH CENTER INC. Every donation that comes in
thru our donation doors goes to service our mission, and programs:
Client Choice Food Pantry, Voucher program for clothing and other
needful items to clients, back to school program, life skills resource
center, and so much more... just by shopping or donating at our
Thrift you are servicing 14 zip codes in Oakland County, Mi. And this
is all done by being 98% volunteer staffed!

Open Door Thrift Store CLOSES on all major holidays, we also close when the Waterford School District closes, to keep our volunteers safe from inclement weather, please check our public facebook page for updates.

Are my donations tax-deductible?
Yes, you will be offered a tax receipt for any type of donations you surrender to the outreach for your tax purposes.
What items can I donate and not donate?
Please refer to our donation guidelines here.
Should I call ahead when making a large donation, like an estate?
Yes, due to the Thrifts capacity, we encourage you call ahead for donations of any size small or large the day you plan to donate.
Are there any special discounts or promotions at the thrift store?
Yes, please check our monthly sales and promotions section for up to date sales and promotions, also you can follow us on facebook.
Are there specific drop-off hours for donations?
Yes, Tuesday through Saturday 10am-4pm, please call ahead for all donations, capacity issues can close our donation door early sometimes. Please do not leave items outside or unattended during non business hours.
Do you offer discounts for seniors or military personnel?
Yes, please see our sales and promotions for our daily discounts.
